Poker…but just the good stuff

Ben Affleck

Benjamin Geza Affleck was born on August 15, 1972 in Berkeley, California, USA but was raised in Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA.

Ben always wanted to be an actor and his first acting experience was for a Burger King commercial, when he was on the PBS mini-series “The Voyage of the Mimi” (1984). It was also at that age when Ben met his lifetime friend and fellow actor, Matt Damon. Together, as you all may already know, they decided to write their own script, where they could have completely autonomy over the project. So, after finishing the script, it was friend Kevin Smith who took it to the head of Miramax who bought the script giving Ben and Matt the control they wanted and, in December of 1997, Good Will Hunting (1997) was released, making the two unknown actors very famous.

After that, everything started to happen for Ben and his career only grew and grew. But we are here to talk about poker and you will be surprised to know that it was not only Ben’s movies that were bombing, his success at the poker table was also about to explode.

Ben has always been an enthusiast poker fan, his first shot into the poker scene was in 2004 when he won the Commerce Casino’s California Stake Poker Championship, earning a $356,400 prize. At the final table he knocked out poker professional player Stan Goldstein to prevail.
